Inclusion modification

The morphology of non-metallic inclusions is altered, resulting in better mechanical properties of the steel.

Improved castability

Enhanced castability means fewer defects during the casting process, leading to higher efficiency and quality.

Cost reduction

The precise addition of alloying elements reduces wastage and lowers the overall cost of steel production.

Increased alloy recovery

By minimizing reactions with air and slag, the recovery rate of alloying elements is increased, making the process more efficient.

Shortened smelting time

The efficient introduction of alloying elements and modifiers reduces the time required for smelting, further improving productivity.

Transportation and Packaging Precautions

Special attention must be paid to the following points during the transportation and packaging of cored wire:

Packaging firmness

The packaging must be very firm since cored wires may be subject to vibration and impact during transportation. Use high-strength packing straps and welding techniques to ensure the cored wire does not loosen.

Protective measures

Protective measures should be taken during packaging as the cored wire may be exposed to humid or corrosive environments during transportation. Use moisture-proof materials or anti-rust grease to protect the surface of the cored wire.

Proper stacking

Proper stacking methods should be observed in the warehouse or on transport vehicles to avoid deformation or damage due to excessive stacking. Ensure the stability of the transport tools to prevent sliding or toppling during transport.

Choice of transport tools

Choosing the right transport tools is crucial to ensuring the safe delivery of cored wire. Opt for those with good shock absorption performance and handle with care during loading and unloading to avoid physical damage to the cored wire.

FAQ

Q: How to properly store flux core welding wire?

A: It is important to store welding consumables in a dry area and in their original packaging until use not only to minimise hydrogen pickup, but also to minimise potential damage and keep clean from other contaminants. Pallets of wire should be stored off the floor and away from walls to allow air movement.

Q: Can flux core wire go bad?

A: Flux core wire can last many years without any problems, but it has a limited life span. Over time, the flux material can break down, leading to erratic behavior in the wiring and eventual failure.

Q: How do you prevent burn through when flux core welding?

A: How to prevent burn-through in FCAW: To minimize the risk of burning holes inside the weld, you must reduce wire feed speed and increase the travel speed. As noted, going through the lower voltage range can also create a lack of penetration, so take things in moderation.

Q: Do you push or pull flux core welding wire?

A: The flux core welding motion naturally produces slag. Therefore, it's best to pull away from what you've welded. Pushing the wire will cause the flux to become trapped in the melted metal.

Q: What gas to use with metal core wire?

A: Argon
High argon content gas (usually 90 percent argon/10 percent CO2, but mixtures range from 75 to 95 percent argon with the remainder CO2) must be used to achieve the beneficial spray transfer.

Q: Do you push or pull metal core wire?

A: Solid wire can often be used with either a push or a drag welding technique. But achieving a flat bead with metal-cored wire requires a 15- to 30-degree travel angle with the push technique. Using a drag technique with metal-cored wire can result in a crowned weld bead. The work angle should be 45 to 55 degrees.

Q: Why am I getting worm tracks in flux core welding?

A: Worm tracks can occur with too little stick out because the gases don't have enough time to dissolve in the weld metal. A larger diameter wire may be less likely to cause worm tracks than a smaller diameter wire.

As one of the leading alloy cored wire manufacturers and suppliers in China, we warmly welcome you to buy cheap alloy cored wire for sale here from our factory. All our products are with high quality and competitive price.
