Ca-Fe Cored Wire: Cut Steelmaking Costs
Description
Technical Parameters
Calcium-Iron Cored Wire Calcium-iron cored wire is a specialized wire feed material for steel refining in the metallurgical industry. It uses 25%-35% calcium granules and 65%-75% iron powder as the core material, with cold-rolled low-carbon steel strip as the outer sheath, and is manufactured through a coating rolling process. It is the preferred material for calcium treatment of low-carbon steel, ultra-low-carbon steel, and other pure steels.
The mainstream models are Ca30 and Ca40, with diameters of 13-13.5mm (suitable for small and medium-sized electric furnaces) and 16mm (suitable for large electric furnaces), and a single coil weight of 500-1000kg. Its core advantages include a calcium recovery rate of 8%-15%, a cost reduction of 10%-15%, a steel temperature drop of ≤8℃/min, and environmentally friendly and simple operation.
It can efficiently deoxidize (final oxygen ≤20×10⁻⁶), deeply desulfurize (efficiency 30%-50%), modify inclusions, improve steel toughness and fatigue life, and also improve continuous casting castability. Suitable for calcium treatment before refining in LF and RH furnaces and continuous casting, compatible with various high-end steel grades, with market demand growing at an average annual rate of 8%-10%. When using this product, it is necessary to control the wire feeding depth and amount, and store it in a dry place to prevent core material failure.
Product Model: CaFe (Mainstream Grades: Ca30, Ca40)
Production Process: Calcium-iron alloy crushing / grinding and powdering / low-carbon steel strip uncoiling and coating / rolling and forming / fixed-length coiling / packaging and warehousing
Product Application: Used in the steelmaking and hot metal refining processes of the metallurgical industry. Suitable for production scenarios of ordinary carbon steel, low-alloy steel, high-strength rebar, cast iron, etc. It can achieve deoxidation, desulfurization, and inclusion modification of molten steel, improving the crack resistance, toughness, and casting performance of steel.
Product Shape: Cylindrical wire (diameter optional 13-13.5mm, 16mm, can be adapted to wire feeding equipment as needed)
Chemical Content: Ca: 25%-35%, Fe: 65%-75%, C≤0.1%, S≤0.03%
Specifications: Core powder weight 230-250g/m, steel strip thickness 0.4±0.2mm, single coil weight 500-1000kg (industry standard)
